At Axon Vietnam, innovation doesn’t happen in the margins. It happens at the core. As Axon’s largest R&D center outside the U.S., our Vietnam team leads the charge on mission-critical platforms, real-time AI, and connected devices trusted by thousands of agencies worldwide.
This is where bold ideas become global breakthroughs – a home base for Vietnamese innovators leading full product journeys from concept to real-world impact.
Write code, save lives. That’s not a motto. It’s a mission.

…A Mission Becomes A Movement
What happens when technology isn’t built for profit, but for people?
Since 1993, Axon’s mission has been simple yet profound: build technology that makes the world safer.
From body-worn cameras to digital evidence platforms and AI-powered reporting tools, the Axon ecosystem empowers law enforcement to act with transparency, accountability, and care. But this mission isn’t just about tools - it’s about trust. And that’s why Axon’s global vision found a perfect home in Vietnam.
“We’re working on hard problems,” says Rick Smith, Axon’s Founder and CEO. “How do we help law enforcement keep people safe while also protecting their privacy?” That’s the kind of challenge that attracts the best minds - and Vietnam has them.

When Innovation Found A Home: How Vietnam Became The Heart Of Axon’s Mission
Axon didn’t come to Vietnam to outsource - we came to build.
Since 2017, what started as a small AI team of 8 has grown into a 400-person-strong engineering hub, where full-stack teams own entire product lifecycles from ideation to global launch.
“This is not a satellite office. This is our most important engineering hub outside the U.S.” says Rick Smith.
Why Vietnam? For leadership, it’s about long-term trust: in local talent, in a vibrant tech ecosystem, and in a culture that values resilience and innovation. For engineers, it’s about impact, and ownership: the chance to build meaningful technologies while staying rooted in home soil.
Features like real-time bodycam livestreaming, Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR), and AI translation, what once seemed futuristic are now core product reality designed, built, and launched by the Vietnamese team.
This isn’t a short-term growth story. It’s a strategic commitment to autonomy, ownership, and mission-driven innovation in Southeast Asia.

Built By Believers, Not Just Engineers
Many of Axon Vietnam’s senior engineers and leaders bring experience from top-tier tech firms across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. So why choose Axon?
Because here, your code could de-escalate a crisis, save a life, or help a community heal.
“It’s about how we get things done, not just what we deliver… I see the team take ownership, work well across timezones, and stay thoughtful under pressure. People care about doing the right thing, even when it’s harder.”– JK Thng, General Director, Axon Vietnam & Senior of Product Management shared.
These decisions aren’t random. They point to a deeper truth: when engineers and leaders see their values and aspirations reflected in a company’s mission, they don’t just join. They stay.
A Culture Where Boldness Belongs
Step inside Axon Vietnam’s four-floor Saigon office, and you’ll feel it - this isn’t a conventional tech workplace. Sci-fi inspired rooms and spaceship doors set the scene, but it’s the culture of creativity and connection that truly stands out.
Here, engineers, designers, and analysts don’t sit in silos - they sit side by side, organized by product missions, not job titles. From open town halls to quiet nooks, every space empower people to think freely, collaborate boldly, and belong.

Awarded Best Office Interior Design at the 2019 Asia Pacific Property Awards, the office is more than design – it’s a launchpad for trust, curiosity, and innovation.
That spirit comes alive each year at Company Kick-Off (CKO), where strategy turns into celebration, and bold ideas emerge from a culture where everyone feels safe to dream big.

Candor, Courage, and Community
At Axon Vietnam, it’s not just about where you work, but how you show up for one another.
“Psychological safety isn’t something we talk about, it’s something we design for,” said Lam Thai, Product Design Manager. “We create space for people to challenge, to speak up, and to lead with confidence.”

That kind of openess fosters trust. And trust leads better products.
As the team continues to grow, Axon Vietnam is seeking bold, mission-driven engineers, product leaders – people who ask, “Does what I build today make the community safer?”
At Axon Vietnam, technology is a tool for trust, and a vehicle for change. Whether it’s enabling real-time translation for law enforcement or designing tools that increase transparency, the work here is built to serve something bigger than software.
Because at Axon Vietnam, code isn’t just built.
It matters.
