Miss Cosmo is a Vietnam-based global organization dedicated to beauty, education, and community with a focus on women, and aim to enhance women’s impact through tangible goals. Miss Cosmo 2025 will be the 2nd edition of the Miss Cosmo pageant to be held at the Creative Park in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on 20 December 2025. Ketut Permata Juliastrid of Indonesia will crown her successor at the end of the event.
Let’s take a look at some of the criteria that Miss Cosmo 2025 looks for in their winner.
First, she has to be… beautiful
Beauty often comes first. But everyone defines beauty differently. Some are drawn to elegance, others to bold modernity, and still others to the kind of unconventional beauty that grows more attractive the longer you look. Every pageant sets its own standards of beauty. For example, at a contest that brings together 80 countries like Miss Cosmo, beauty can’t be confined to a single mold.

English is a must
If you look at Miss Cosmo’s winners and runners-up from the past two years, none of them had an IELTS 8.0 or 8.5. But at least, they need to be fluent in English. Communicating in English is a necessary skill, as Miss Cosmo isn’t only about beauty, it’s about connection, integration, and amplifying women’s voices on a global stage.
Fluency in English also allows queens to work with international organizations, contribute to global projects, and extend their influence well beyond their home countries.
Good health and resilience
A queen’s post-crowning schedule is packed, from media tours to endless events such as homecoming,... Good health is what keeps her energized enough for her tenth appearance of the day or to meet fans until night.
It’s no surprise that some beauty pageants have integrated sports into their main activities throughout the contest. For instance, Miss World has long featured a Sports Challenge. And more recently, Miss Cosmo, founded by UniMedia, introduced pickleball and golf as part of the contest. Through these activities, the girls can show not only their good health but also their teamwork spirit.
Beyond physical health, the crowned queen must also have inner strength, with grit-discipline, resilience under pressure.
Leadership
Last year, some audiences were surprised when Miss Cosmo replaced the traditional Top 2 Q&A with a debate round. This format goes beyond testing quick wit or rehearsed answers. It pushes contestants to demonstrate true leadership: the power to persuade, the clarity to articulate ideas, and the confidence to hold their ground under pressure.
In today’s fast-paced world, crowns are no longer just symbols of beauty. They come with voices, influence, and the responsibility to spark change. The queen must inspire independence, confidence, and self-determination in other women, embodying not only grace but also the mindset of a leader.

The ability to bridge cultures
Recently, Miss Cosmo has announced that Vietnam will once again host the pageant for its second season.
Vietnam’s role as host once again reflects Miss Cosmo’s clear goal: to amplify the nation’s global image through a pageant interwoven with arts and cultural expression. This year’s theme, “Rising Dragon,” emphasizes Vietnam as the “Land of the Blue Dragon” - a proud tribute to its legendary roots as the “Children of the Dragon and the Fairy.” In essence, the chosen queen isn’t meant to shine alone; she must uplift others, guiding communities to rise with her.
In its inaugural year, Ketut Permata Juliastrid (Tata, Miss Cosmo 2024) embraced her role as a cultural ambassador with remarkable grace. Throughout her reign, she traveled to many countries, joining cultural exchange initiatives, championing art preservation, advocating for the environment, and supporting children with cleft lip and palate through the project Smile Train. Even runner-up Karnruethai Tassabut (Mook) stood out as a cultural bridge, strengthening ties between Vietnam and Thailand.

KPIs for queens
Scroll through social media and you’ll see many Cosmo queens diving into content creation to grow their followings. It may look like their only goals are virality or personal branding, but every new follower carries real weight.
Those numbers become the foundation for their initiatives, fueling fundraising, attracting sponsorships, and keeping public attention alive. Without that momentum, many community projects risk fading just months after launch.
Take Smile Train, the nonprofit partnered with Miss Cosmo 2024 winner Ketut Permata Juliastrid (Tata). Dedicated to providing cleft lip and palate surgeries for children, Tata and the organization brings not only brighter smiles but brighter futures.
In her home of Bali, Indonesia, Tata worked directly with children while raising awareness about safe, affordable treatment options. Here, KPIs move beyond numbers. They make a real-world impact.
By setting clear KPIs, Miss Cosmo also underscores that being a queen is more than just holding a title. It’s a professional responsibility. Each queen is given measurable goals, with her journey tracked, evaluated, and recognized. To be a true “next-generation queen,” she must lead with courage, raise her voice, and leave a lasting impact on her community.

Why call Miss Cosmo the “Beauty Olympics”?
Miss Cosmo’s decision to brand itself as the “Beauty Olympics” rather than just a pageant feels well-founded. The scale is grander, the scope wider, and the spirit of fair competition runs deeper.
Miss Cosmo isn’t just about finding a winner. It’s about creating role models for a new generation, young people who can see that beauty, when combined with purpose, can shape communities and spark real change.

Conclusion
From all these criteria, one thing is clear: a queen’s true value doesn’t end at the crowning moment. It must be shown long before, through her personal journey and story; during the competition, through her talent and courage; and long after, through the lasting impact of her actions within her community, even beyond her reign.
Every step a beauty queen takes is under watchful eyes. Her crowning moment may stir debate, but if she proves her worth and delivers real impact, audiences are often willing to change their perspective and support her.
