Panel: Powering Vietnam’s Green and Digital Future Through Inclusive Workforce Development

Vietnam has a looming labor shortage and is not leveraging the entirety of its most valuable resource – our people. Meanwhile, the country’s transition to a green and digital economy requires a skilled workforce capable of navigating evolving industries and demands of global customers. How can we make the right investments to make sure that underserved people (people with disabilities, women vulnerable communities - low-income workers) can benefit from tech and manufacturing jobs and can be integrated into the green and digital workforce of the future? This panel discussion will explore the strategies and initiatives needed to equip workers with the necessary skills for future jobs and highlight opportunities for collaboration, investment, and policy support to facilitate a smooth and equitable transition for Vietnam's workforce.

Việt Nam đang đối mặt với tình trạng thiếu hụt lao động ngày càng gia tăng và chưa tận dụng hết nguồn lực quý giá nhất của mình – người dân. Trong khi đó, quá trình chuyển đổi của đất nước sang nền kinh tế xanh và kỹ thuật số đòi hỏi một lực lượng lao động lành nghề, có khả năng thích ứng với các ngành công nghiệp đang phát triển và yêu cầu của khách hàng toàn cầu. Làm thế nào chúng ta có thể thực hiện các khoản đầu tư đúng đắn để đảm bảo rằng những nhóm dân cư thiệt thòi (người khuyết tật, phụ nữ, cộng đồng dễ bị tổn thương - người lao động có thu nhập thấp) có thể hưởng lợi từ các công việc trong lĩnh vực công nghệ và sản xuất, đồng thời có thể hòa nhập vào lực lượng lao động xanh và kỹ thuật số của tương lai? Phiên thảo luận này sẽ khám phá các chiến lược và sáng kiến cần thiết để trang bị cho người lao động những kỹ năng cần thiết cho các công việc trong tương lai, đồng thời nêu bật các cơ hội hợp tác, đầu tư và hỗ trợ chính sách nhằm tạo điều kiện cho một quá trình chuyển đổi suôn sẻ và công bằng cho lực lượng lao động Việt Nam.
